Bottle Top Filters, ZapCap-S, ZapCap-CR and ZapCap-S Plus
Overview
ZapCap bottle top filters are for filtration of medium volumes of cell culture media and HPLC solutions. A selection of materials, membranes and prefilters is available.
Complete 500 mL units with tubing nozzle for attaching to bottles. Connection seals on any standard 33 to 45 mm bottles. Membrane diameter is 76 mm, filter area is 39.2 cm2.
Polystyrene ZapCap-S includes a borosilicate glass prefilter for high flow rates or other optional uses. Polystyrene ZapCap-S Plus has an integral borosilicate glass prefilter for very high flow rates. Polypropylene ZapCap-CR is chemically resistant.
Cellulose acetate membrane filters have very low protein binding for cell culture media and other aqueous soltuions. Polyamide (nylon) membrane filters are used for the retention of fine particles and microorganisms in HPLC/FPLC solutions when the column packing is 10 µm. PTFE membrane filters are used for the retention of particles in organic solutions, strong acids or aldehydes
